Suspension Bridge Sukabumi

Suspension Bridge Sukabumi Situ ginting ( 1 Juni 2019)

This is the first one day trip with “explorer” and 2 guides, Richard and Helen. The journey started from Central Park Mall, Jakarta at 5.30 am. Due to Eid Mubarak celebration in a few more days, many shops were closed and the streets were less traffic. Along the road there was traditional market in Sukabumi, and also closed. The journey to Sukabumi was very smooth and fast, we arrived around 9 am, the tourism site was still quiet.
The view before go to suspension bridge.  Still foggy in the morning.

There are 2 paths on the main entrance, the left one leads to Mountain Lake, the right one leads to Suspensian Bridge and Sawer Waterfall. Let’s explore the right path first.

1.     Suspension Bridge
Sukabumi Suspension Bridge is the longest one in Indonesia, the length is 243m and height is 161m from the ground. This bridge is made from Ulin wood or Iron wood. As the name suggests, there is no buffer in the middle, if you walk slightly to the middle of the bridge, it will be rocking. Actually, it’s quite exciting, especially if you walk fast or run. (don’t ever try it, people on the bridge will be frightened).😅
The right and left of the bridge is also fenced with wire. It’s very safe.

2.     Sawer Waterfall
After crossing the suspension bridge, the road will lead to under the bridge. There is a Waterfall calls Sawer. The water is shallow and very clear but the current is strong enough, for those who want to swim (the water height is under kneecap) or take a pre-wedding pics can go there. The best time to go there is during summer season, the water is clean and clear, in rainy season the water level is higher and muddy. Washing clothes, taking a bath, brushing teeth are not allowed. Not far from the waterfall, there is a clean toilet with IDR 2000 fee. Around this waterfall, there are also many people who sells food, but due to fasting month, the only food available was instant noodle and meatball.

The strong current and clear water from the waterfall, combine with my sleepy face ^^

3.     Mountain Lake.
After going back again passing the suspension bridge to the main door, now we go to left path. From the main entrance to Mountain Lake, must walk long enough down to the lake. In this lake, you can ride a raft (one trip IDR 15000 for each person) or duck bicycle (one trip IDR 15000).
The slope pathway to the lake.
One raft can be for more than 5 people.
My side job to collect money before go home as a raft man ;)
Resting after working as a raft man.

After finished taking pictures, we took the same path back to the main entrance and returned to Jakarta. This trip is suitable for family trip, a place to relax and just for sightseeing and taking pictures, not for culinary, cultural or adventure trip. This is the end of my trip, see you on my next trip.
